The Red Scare

Well, Jack gave us our first big scare yesterday when I opened a diaper and found a large amount of blood. Our pediatrician recommended we take him to Children's ER, so that's where we spent Friday evening. After a slew of blood tests, a stool culture, an X-Ray, and a nuclear mecel scan (where he had to lie still for ONE HOUR--and was a total trooper), everything came back normal. Although reassured, we're still missing the seedy yellow poop of a couple days ago...Hopefully he'll get whatever it is out of his tiny little system soon.

On the bright side, he's acting normal, eating normal, and is still an ANGEL STRAIGHT FROM HEAVEN (copyright: Auntie Kimmy).

We'll keep you updated...

Jack is much more alert these days...finally some pics with his eyes open. We've decided to keep him.

More Jack...

Some firsts for Jack...sleeping in a crib two full nights (one in between was not successful, due to nachos with beans and jalepenos that Mom ate).
And his first cruise in a stroller. What a big little man.

Two Weeks Old!

Jack had his two-week check-up today, and the doctor predicted pure genius out of him. Despite that fact that he peed on the examining table. For the second time.

He's healthy as a horse and has proven that he can eat like a Midwesterner--is already a pound over his birth weight and has grown 3/4 of an inch.
