Lesson of the day

Yesterday, Jack came home and told us that money doesn't make you happy, love does. He learned that from his teacher after they watched the movie "The Aristocats."

This morning, I gave Jack $2 for his field trip and he said, "Wow! Money! I love money!" Pause... "But money doesn't make you happy, love does. But I still like money."

The 53rd thing that went wrong this week

Got in an accident. Wrecked my car. 100% my fault. But I still swear the other car was never there. It really did come out of nowhere. Really. Lucy was sick, ear infections and nebulizers. Todd and I took a "vacation" to California, where I got pneumonia and stayed in the hotel room for the duration. Got back to Austin, took a coughing Jack to the doctor where he was given antibiotics for walking pneumonia. Are you kidding me? You can feel sorry for me I guess. Go ahead.

There's a few things I don't mind waking up for

Last night Jack woke up around midnight and came into our room saying his tummy hurt. I walked him back to his room and held him for a while on his bed. After a couple minutes he said, "Mom, I love you so much." Then he paused and said, "Even when I'm mad."
