I am a bit...scared...

Lucy and I just played "princesses." I have no idea where she learned this, but she put on her dress-up, a crown, and some high-heels, and she turned into a fancy hair-flipping hip-swaying gal. Throughout my lesson, I learned the following:
"Princesses need to eat food, because they have babies in their tummies."
"Princesses have to be respectful to their kings who married them."
"You have to stay in the lines (while coloring), or you won't be a princess."
"Princesses brush their teeth in the morning, the afternoon, and the summer."

He's been reading about George Washington and Valley Forge...

I've been telling the kids that I don't like it when places start to decorate for Christmas even before Thanksgiving. On the way home today, I pointed out a decorated Christmas tree along the highway to Jack. He said, "If I had a musket, I'd shoot down the decorations. Then I'd take a sword and carve it into a turkey."

Sleepover

And Todd and Amy finally get their mattress off the floor. Only took 9 1/2 years.

Jack-o-lantern

First missing tooth. Jack told me about how his friend Trey "hit the jackpot" when he lost his tooth...apparently the tooth fairy left him a dollar, an Angry Birds stuffed animal, and glitter in his hair. Thanks a lot, overachieving tooth fairy. I told Jack that SOMETIMES the tooth fairy just leaves money. Then at 9:30 that night the tooth fairy went to Walgreens and got Jack a small gadget to accompany his lonely dollar bill. In MY day, we got a quarter. And we were darn happy with it.
